Upgraded my MMI DVD to version 5 yesterday
It took about 3 minutes and I didn't have any problems. I haven't had a chance to see how much more info is available for the areas I've had issues with ;-)

I have the exact same versions that you posted
Now for the Nav versions:
Media Version: USA-0740-2093
Databank Version: 288/20050217114407
As to the question of should you update: how much do you use the nav and have you found it deficient in your area?
I do bike rides in a lot of small towns in N. Texas and coverage was horrible. I'll see this summer if this upgrade was worth it.

Re: by upgrading the MMI software, does that enable using the BlueTooth phone
seeing that Cingular is going to stop supporting my phone eventually, I would like to upgrade the phone
