2008 Audi A8 radio comes on in about 10 second after car is locked
I have been having this issue for some time now. My radio will turn on after car is locked in about under ten seconds and play music. It started about a year ago and I can not find solution for this . Radio sounds settings will be reset to factory each time it happens.Also, if you leave it on Sirius radio echo has I do not have it will jump to AM settings. I have tried to turn it off manually before car is off but it will come on once car is locked. Eventually radio will turns off after 10 or 15 minutes and stay off after that. If car is not locked but radio is off and any door or trunk is opened it will come on again. Any logical suggestions what may cause this problem. Thank you. Vlad.

Have you checked for fault codes on the radio or other optic bus components? That's what I would do to start. You would need the Ross Tech tool (VCDS) or other type of tool.

Using VCDS, have you run Optical Bus Diagnostics under the "Applications" section. Have you checked for fault codes on all components like CAN gateway and Control Head?

Does it turn on the radio each time or does it turn on the last device that was used, like the CD player. Have you run the full auto scan in VCDS to make sure nothing was missed? Possible that there is buttons are "stuck" and maybe MMC control panel buttons need cleaning. Have you tried "rebooting" MMC?

It seems to return to radio AM after left in CD mode or Xm Radio. Even if volume is muted and radio is turned off it will come on and play loud. As for buttons, they are fine. I did reset MMI few times but still the same. It seems to me that some component resetting radio and turning it on but so far can not figure out which one. Any ideas which component resets radio? Is it MMI or control head unit? Like I mentioned above radio will not play again after it played and turned off itself. I will make a video some time once it gets warmer in Chicago. Thank you .
