That is a first, I don't think I have ever seen an A8 without a start and stop button.

Push button start was introduced as an option in 2005. Nearly every one produced since then has had it. But any 2004 is going to have to be started the old fashioned way.

Yes, unfortunately. the 2004 models does not have the push to start button.

Had a 2008 A6 4.2 V8 with push to start and never i inserted the key. I do miss the option!

Jack is correct! Unfortunately the 2004 models does not have push to start!
This is my second 2004 A8L and both did not have the option.

Cant find any decent 05 and up A8L here in Toronto, Canada, as much as i would want the 06 body with the bigger grill, no decent low milage.

I got a good deal on this 04 A8L with only 100k km on it.
