What triggers the sleep cycle?
#3
The MMI goes into a "sleep cycle" from time to time..
This was referenced in the TSB for the software upgrade. (...after a prolonged sleep cycle the surround settings will be lost....)
...and I, too have no idea what it really means or what triggers it....

Re: What triggers the sleep cycle?
At some point the car goes into sleep cycle to save power. I'm wondering if it's triggered by no activity at all (no door openings, radio use, etc.), or no engine starts for a certain period, or is it based on battery charge level.
The Dealer could not get the car to lose it's sound settings. It does it all the time to me, but I don't generally drive it during the week.

My experience-
I have an A6 that had the DSP problem, until the new software was loaded (DSP problem is now completely corrected). My experience was that if I didn't start the car for 3 days, the MMI system would go into sleep mode, which is when the DSP would loose its settings. Just entering the car or the trunk to get something out didn't make a difference
