First I had the MMI updated to the most recent version 8:14 andmy Bose stereo which I hated sounds significantly better. The loaner car I had had 19 inch all season Goodyears on it and it wrote beautifully. Far better than my 20 inch Pirellis. Any suggestions what I can replace the Pirellis with. They're very loud and not nearly as smooth. Thanks in advance for the info

I have Continental SportContact5P's in both 20" and 21" sizes. They ride really smooth and are quiet. I had a loaner with 20" Pirelli's and they did seem a bit louder than both Conti sets.

I had Eagle F1 Asymmetric, and those are both quiet and comfortable, although the 19's with Continentals are a bit quieter and smoother, most likely due to the added sidewall. I'm glad to hear your update went well. I've seen some on hear talk of their amp going out upon updating their mmi.

When I upgraded my MMI the Bose stereo system sounded much better afterwards. I was not expecting it, but there it is.

so am I missing something, but I thought there was a charge to update your MMI version? I asked my dealer a few months ago when I first bought my car, and the service rep said it costs a few hundred bucks.

My guess is that it's at the dealers discretion. I had asked previously and was told there was a charge but this time when I asked they did it along with some other warranty work. I've gotten three vehicles from this dealership and referred some folks to them so perhaps it was just good customer service on their part.
