2013 A8L 4.0T low idle RPM
This is my 2nd A8L. Previous was a 2005 A8L. I love both cars and I think I am not converted to Audi loyalist from BMW. Although my very first car was an Audi 5000s Turbo my dad gave me when he was done with it.
Anyway I've noticed some jerkiness at very low RPM's. I then checked the RPM's at a rest in both N and P. I remember seeing about 1100, but today its idling at about 300 RPM's. Now that cannot be right. Can anyone confirm and suggest what I might do before I take it to the local dealer and get ripped off.
Thanks!

Without VCDS or similar you can't check codes. Normal idle is about 750 rpm. 2013 not under warranty? How many miles?

Warranty is expired. 53000 mils on it now. I miss-read the RPMs. It's idling at just under 800 RPMs so I guess that's correct. But it is a bit jerky at slow speeds and I have it in Auto setting. Not dynamic or comfort...
I red the thread about engine vibrations. I had that fixed by the dealer under warrany when I first bought the car...

BTW, not that I would put a the weight there anyway. May be unrelated issue, especially if you get any codes in due course. Even though Techron won't clean valves on an FSI motor, you might consider running a bottle through just to clean fuel system generally. By 50K miles I would (will) be myself.

I've got a 2013 A8L 4.0T with 48,000 miles. Are you talking about a jerkiness when in Auto starting from a stop? If so, I've definitely felt it. I think there is TSB 371553 about harsh upshifts 1/2. You could call your dealer and see if it has been applied? Either way, I will be following this thread.

I have almost 53,000 on mine and I don't experience any jerkiness at low RPM. You can certainly feel the car restart when using the start/stop feature but that is to be expected.
I believe the TSB you mention is only for 4.2 cars.

high idle during cold start-ups not always but most the time and a little rough idle after warmup...
