2014 S8

I'm still waiting for my 2013 S8 that I ordered back in December--my dealer thinks I will get it next month. I seriously doubt the 2014 model will be out until the end of the year and then there will be a wait to get one. Better go for a 2013 if you want one in the near future.

The first cars of the new model year generally come off the line the day after Oktoberfest (which is NOT in October, by the way). Demo and VIP versions ship at the end of August. So, Labor Day is pretty close.

Thanks everybody for the feedback. I have read the reviews and
am really impressed. This will be my first Audi and I am looking forward to the experience. Slightly concerned about the MMI
system. It seems to be a lot more complicated than the IDrive
that I have in my BMW. Even some of the reviews mentioned how
complicated the system is. But will get thru that.

IMHO they are all IDrive fanboys who have not taken the time to understand the conceptual operation of MMI.
It's really quite simple.
Voice control will get you to most of the menus as well.
Some great tutorials and overviews here: http://www.auditechnology.com/#2013/a8
When I get a new Audi, which invariably has newer technology, I always order a second copy of the manual to keep in my office.
That way I can review it at my leisure and have a handy reference without removing it from the vehicle.

I tried that too and couldn't find a silver/black one I liked with the right options and price--seems like most of the ones in dealer stock are some shade of black and my last 4 cars were black and I wanted a change. Finally my local dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse--gave me top dollar for my '11 Jaguar XJ Supercharged trade-in, ordered the S8 just like I want it at a $10,000 discount and sold me a new A8L to drive until the S8 comes in with the agreement that they will trade it in on the S8 for the same price I paid for it. I guess that's worth the wait.
