Default 35k service

$1073

that seems obscene.
ok it’s cpo and it didn’t cost me anything, but still that seems crazy.

i think I’ll be doing the brakes myself...

It'sa major service for the 4.0T engine. Spark plugs, coil packs, oil, filter, cabin filter, air filter,...

Plugs are ~$150, coilpacks are ~$200, cabin filter was $35, oil and filter will cost you $75 if you get the 5 quart jugs from wally world. These are parts prices.

Plugs will probably take you a few hours at an easy pace just because of all the crap you have to disconnect. If you do it yourself be CAREFUL with any plastic clips as they break very easily.

DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY READ ANY MORE?

The 35k service doesn't touch coil packs.
It's oil, filters and spark plugs.

Correct. But in turn better to include the motor w/ post, signature, or in your avatar. Thus thread--and probably $$$$--basically assumes 4.0T. If 3.0T, the major service is at 55K (thru 2017), and 35K is basically another glorified oil change.

Also, depending on how fast car accumulated miles, the 2 year brake fluid flush that is solely time dependent typically occurs at 25K or 35K. Some just standardize, probably at 25K. Should show on maintenance paperwork, at least the brake fluid. Can get overlooked by dealer because it goes by time, so good to check paperwork. Up to half the time, my dealer has probably missed it across 5 different Audi's that have had AudiCare or its equivalent.

CPO does not include service BTW, so I expect what is probably the case is prior owner bought AudiCare for the first 50K miles. If so, that transfers w/ the car.

Do you guys feel its overkill to change the brake fluid every 2 years if solely based on time? I was thinking about doing 5-6 just because its 70% freeway 30% city

Driving scenario is 100% irrelevant. What is relevant is atmospheric humidity. Your car could be parked for 6 years w/ same result. Brake fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it collects water. If you live in a humid area, not good. If you live in a dry area, in theory you could skate longer. Risk is brakes not there when you really need them though. Fluid can start to show enough water accumulation to affect peak performance in as little as a year. In dryer areas, probably several years. Consequence is it lowers boiling point of fluid. And when it boils--like repeatedly using your brakes and pedal starts to go soft/brakes fade--not good. They sell test strips if you want to go that way and monitor instead.
