a8 4.0 increase power?
since this is same engine in the S8 and Bentley
I'm wondering what the differences are? If it can be eaisley done I might want to do it to my 2013A8 4.0

Most turbo cars are fairly easy to turn up for more power. The 4.0T uses different turbos for the higher horsepower variants, as well as revised fuel maps and higher boost levels for the Bentley and S8 variants.
For someone interested in increasing power, no doubt the aftermarket will come out with a chip to add HP at relatively low cost, usually in the form of increased boost (and fuel) mapping.
Not sure I’d do it though.
The ECU’s are now sophisticated enough to understand if a program has been altered, even if you set it back to stock. This can show up on the dealer’s VAG tools, and alert to them to a modified ECU which gives ground to invalidate the warranty under certain circumstances.
The bigger reason why I’d probably not consider it is that the power band for the A8 version of the 4.0T has been tuned, and uniquely so, for the luxury car driver, which is to say it has a table top flat torque curve starting from just off idle. At 1500 rpm, the torque is all in at 444 lb/ft., which is pretty amazing in and of itself. I think this torque is far more important than the HP figures for the A8. Consider the same motor (different turbos) in the S8 makes 520 HP, with torque at 481 lb/ft……at 5500 rpm. Big difference in the way these two cars will feel from a drivability standpoint.
Nice to have the option to turn up the wick with a chip though.
