21x10.5 et30 works well on 285s. So with 295s you would be pretty maxed. They would fit the rear I think but the front would poke out 5mm I'm guessing.
I'm using 21x9 et20 on 265s without rubs. Et15 in back.
I'd like to attempt 21x10.5 et35 with 295s. Could be tight on the inner side vs suspension.
I just measured and 295 et35 will be 1 or 2mm of clearance to the suspension arm.
There is an rs7 using 295 et32 with a 10.5 rim. I bet they would bolt on and fit nearly identical. I haven't heard any discussions on rs7 vs d4s for clearance under the fenders though.
At least if it rubs inside with et35, there can be a 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, or 5mm spacer to fix the problem. Any more than that will have front poke and fender rubs.
I mounted my 22x10.5's over the weekend and I'm happy with the turnout.
ET is +40, I'm running 12mm spacers in the front to clear the brakes and 10mm spacers in the rear. I also lowered 15mm via vcds and haven't experienced any rubbing. Tire's are Continental Extreme Contact DWS 285/30/22.
Im ordering a set in nearly identical specs, but a 1/2" more sidewall. 285x35-21 , on 21x10.5 et28.
Edit. Test fit one wheel and added a picture of it.
