Audi S8 D4 brake upgrade?
Hi all. Old member but new car. In April I changed my old Audi A8 D3 4.2TDI MY2005 with an Audi S8 D4 MY2013 in Havana black. I am searching for changing the front brakes (pads and/or rotors).
Are there any good suggestions except the OEM? I am pretty sure that the previous owner didn't install the OEM pads the last time but now for me it is time to make a good change.
The first reason for changing is because they are almost faded. The second reason is I have a constant high pitch noise when braking which is so loud that you can hear it inside the cabin.
Do keep in mind that I leave in Norway so the temperatures are usually low. The car has already an APR downpipe and Stage 1 tune (waiting for my APR dealer to install stage 2).
Sorry for my bad english . A small video of the car:

Not really sure what you are asking but I'm thinking you are looking for pad suggestions....
There are many threads already about this topic..... take a few minutes and look (search) through the posts.
The high pitch could be missing/omitted shims on the back of the pads when they were replaced last time.

I am a bit confused too, I would think the brakes are generally quite good as is and if you are looking to get rid of the pitch etc then new pads and proper mounting should be enough.
My brakes are 1LJ and got new pads and discs from reserdelar 24.se (there are many country sites) and the discs were zimmerman and pads ATE and they work great, the feel is identical to the original set up.

Hi. Thank you both for your replies. Maybe I was not clear enough. I am not saying that I want to change to something better. I am just saying that if there is something better and you know and it is tested, then maybe I should give it a try.
If you believe that the original pads and discs are more than enough then I will go with that. I will probably schedule to change brakes at the end of this month so I will post an update.
Thank you all.
