Brake pad warning will not go out.
Hi everyone, apologies for the needy first post but I have the brake pad warning light on and all pads/ sensors etc are fine !
I have had a friend who has just had to replace the wiring loom in his A8 for exaxtly the same reason but Audi UK will not make this common knowledge so I am trying to find a way round by disabling the warning for brake pads.
I have OBD eleven and have just ordered VCDS in the faint hope I don't have to spend £1500.00 with Audi to rectify the problem.
Can anyone suggest a fix or know how to disable the light on my car ?
Many thanks !
( I have checked all sensors with a meter and they are fine, also greased all terminals etc)

Just in case it is the "well duh," are you checking both front and back brakes and sensors?--if you thought wear was on one end. A lot of posts historically seem to end up being the "other" axle from where the focus or brake work first was.

Yes I’ve had all 4 wheels off and checked the lot.. even tracing the wiring up inside the wheel arches !

Got it. Next "well duh" that comes up too. Is fluid level correct; anything wrong with sensor there? I don't recall D4 light set up for pads, but sometimes the fluid related problem seems to get mixed in w/ pads too.
After that, no other easy ones I recall--besides yes, I would scan w/ VCDS to see what is in the brake (ABS) module code wise.

Yep, tried the fluid and if you disconnect the cap it comes up with a 'stop vehicle and check fluid' warning so that's no good...
I think the quickest way is VCDS or find a wiring diagram to close the circuit as close to the control unit/ dash as possible.

Rear brake sensor harness rubs on wheel
I had a sensor issue, it was the rear sensor wire which rubs on the wheel and wears through. Mechanic rerouted and cable tied it up out of the way.

Same here. 2013 Audi A8. Dealer verified pads and rotors are like new. But then quoted me $3600 to replace all ABS harnesses and sensors! 16 hours of labor. I told them to **** off.
So I'm either going to buy the left rear ABS hardness myself and get another shop to replace it OR I may just figure out how to short the whole thing. I sure wish the light could be turned off with VCDS or OBDEleven, but it cannot for some reason.
