Question Buying used A8, need advice

Hi, I need advice in making decision about buying a certified A8. This is a 2012 Audi A8, with ~39000 miles. Options added are

1. Driver Assistance Package
2. Cold Weather Package
3. Premium Package
4. LED Headlights

CARFAX report shows one owner, has been serviced regularly, and has been certified by the Audi dealer.

Dealer listing price is 45k, is this a good deal or should I negotiate?

Is there any value in getting an extended warranty in addition to the 6yr, 100k. Is getting a pre-paid maintenance plan any useful? How much should it cost?

Thanks so much.

Where are you? American spec cars had the 4.2 in 2012. In Europe, the 2012 was the first year with that engine. I have three responses for the three possibilities.
-If you are in Europe, I can't help much, different market=different prices
-If you are in America and you have the year right, that's not the motor you have and you would be paying too much for the 4.2
-If you are in America, and you have the motor right, that's a perfectly good asking price

In any case, always negotiate. Asking price is never the lowest they will go and why pay more than you have to?

You are right it's the 4.2 liter engine, I am in America. Negotiated the price to 44k, KBB report is putting it at 45,500.

Walk away and the price will come down. Be patient. There are a lot of them out there.

Also, this is the long wheel base, the L version, not the base A8.

What is your timeframe? These things seem to be coming down almost $750-1000 a month as far as I can tell.

I can tell you I just bought, last month, a 2013 A8L 3.0, not 4.2, for $51k w/32k on the odometer with the exact same options as your car.

as for an extended warranty, your car could be CPO'd, not sure. The CPO coverage is not the same as the original warranty, doesn't cover as much

There is a NWB 2013 4.0t near me for $46992 with 36k miles, with adaptive cruise, LED headlights, 20 inch wheels, and the premium package. It might have some other things I'm missing, but I doubt much.
