Cabin outside air vent location to deodorize
I have a 2015 A8 and getting s musty mildew smell when I turn on the AC/run the vents. I’ve changed the cabin air filter which wasn’t that dirty to begin with. And other vehicles I’ve sprayed Lysol and other deodorizers in the outside air vent intake while running the AC system, however with this car I’m not noticing anywhere in the engine bay that allows for outside air to come in to the AC system. Am I missing something? I really don’t feel like pulling the inside cabin air filter out and spraying in there but if that’s what I have to do just confirm Thanks

Have the same problem with my 2014, I just replaced the cabin filter and the musty smell still present when the AC is turned on for the first time. See the instructions below from the D4 HVAC repair manual for the right location, try it on your A8 and let us know if it worked for you, then I will try it on mine!

That’s a lot of work to spray some cleaner into ac vents. Might have to look into the cleaner you spray into the ac vents inside the car and pull cabin filter and spray up in there too. Maybe that will solve it

Once you guys eliminate your odor, if you want to prevent it from coming back...don't turn off your A/C ever. Just leave the automatic climate control on. This prevents moisture from collecting in there which is the cause of the mold. I haven't turned off the A/C in any car in decades. Never had an odor.

No need to remove plenum IMO. As long has you spray your deodorizer of choice in the perforated holes on the plenum cover it will get sucked in.

Just forget about sprays, this is not working; You are wasting money.
I tried many on my former BMW to no avail.
The only solution is to go to a shop having a specific equipement to destroy the mold on the evaporator coil.
This device generates a spray of very fine droplets of an antibacterial liquid using ultrasound. (mist) + Ozone
Check for example the Aircomatic III from Wynn's
