I just bought the A8 badge.
Can anyone please tell me exactly where it should be located on the trunk. The distance from side and up/down.
It's a 2011.

Did yours not come with a badge? I can't help as I debadge all of my cars anyway. I like the cleaner look. I do keep the Audi rings of course. Too naked without those.

Yes it came without it.
Before i put it on i need to make sure i place it exactly correct.
And there is no other A8 in my area here in Stockholm that i can look at and measure.

Did you call and ask the dealer? They should be able to look that sort of thing up, I imagine. I've seen other manufactures have charts for that sort of thing.

FWIW, I too have seen diagrams showing where badges go. They are in some full shop manuals. The likely place actually to track it down is via body shops--they would have the documentation (or should) on where all the badges go. Unfortunately in real world they often just eyeball it--as you see sometimes from oddball looking ones.

Or...in the real world, honestly just throw a little tape measure in your car. Besides dealer lot targets, just find one in parking lot sooner or later and take the one minute to get measurements from bottom and side edges. On your trunk, after cleaning surface w/ rubbing alcohol, lay down a strip of blue tape at bottom edge as your straight line guide. Pencil mark on the tape for left edge of the lower leg outer corner of the "A." Apply. BTDT.

Yes the shops "should" have diagrams.
I called two in my area, no one had.
Like you said - they just stick in on.
The problem is that i only see an A8 once every fourth month or so.
And they are most often debadged...
But i will put the tape in the car and start searching 😀

Hi Hunky Dory,

I just measured mine. Bottom of trunk up to bottom of badge, 2 1/8", then from edge of A to curved edge of trunk, 1 7/8"
