Headlights fade?
My 2005 A8 suffered from a gradual case of tinged plastic covering the headlights. I stopped in at O'Relly's and was told not to worry because current cars had a much higher grade of plastic over the lights. Was he blowing smoke or can we agree that new headlight covers don't discolor?

I would say no, things have not changed. Last I checked the principles of uV and weathering were still basically ...the same. But since maybe the O'Reilley guy had a PhD in plastics aging, who's really to say?
Maybe more practically, folks on the Q5 forum where the early vehicles are just slightly older than the early D4's continue to note issues, and of course have been seen more on D3's by about 10 years. If anything worse on the Q5's--they are noting a fine crystallization type problem where the plastic looks like it has tons of fractures.
My net is the lights basically do better w/ car garaged and worse if car sits in sun all day, whether home or job parking lot. Which of course is basically the same answer as the paint, and the interior, and the rubber, and the...

The sealant helps against UV damage. It is particularly needed once your buff off whatever clear came on the plastic. It is ideal of course to park in a garage. Another reason why tint is so nice to have. 70% ceramic on the windshield is great. Very light, 99% UV and good heat reduction. The UV cut is what I really like.
