I've noticed a physical knock through the gas pedal (like somebody hitting it and therefore you can feel it through your foot) while slowly accelerating away from a stop sign.. One way to reproduce it is when you do a slow rolling stop (get the speed less than 5mph but not a full complete stop) and the accelerate away again. Between 5 & 15mph I get the "knock" or "tap" through the gas pedal. It doesn't replicate in any other type of driving. The only thought I had was about about brakes and if there is something sticking when slowly bringing the car to a halt but I would not be sure why it is so noticeable through the gas pedal.

any thoughts would be welcomed!

I got the same thing on my 2015 TDI. It is annoying, but I live with it.

did you ever diagnose it to anything wrong with the car? brakes, engine, suspension?

I don't get it every time, but probably in 50% cases when I press slowly on the gas pedal.
I have not had a chance to talk to my dealer about it, but in general I think there is nothing wrong there. It looks like the design bug and it does not affect any driving capabilities.

Same here, 2014 3.0 FSI. It happens every single time around 5-15 mph. I got used to but I wish it the knock noise wasn`t there. This car makes so many weird noises at low speeds! My old 2008 D3 is so quiet and smooth pulling out of the driveway, luckily I kept it for commuting to work.

I replaced the lower left rear facing control arm and that fixed the issue. no more thunks/clunks/sounds
