Default Looking for 2015+ S8

Having had a few S4's, and now with a growing family I have been looking at picking up a 2015+ S8. Looking at several CPO'd cars at dealer (prices are all over the map) but would prefer the right private party deal....if anyone knows someone with an excellent example contemplating selling, let me know via PM! Thanks.

Since you appear to be a tuner (who isn't? heh), and are willing to go the private party route, why not just get an A8L and flash APR or GIAC firmware to get the power you want without the price premium of the S? That way, you get the land yacht space while having the ability to spend money on the performance bits that you want.

Best,

He wants his warranty, too, so tuning is probably off the table. That said, the A8L with the 4.0t will pull off mid 12 second quarter mile times all day long, and if you find one with the sport diff, will handle very well. The added rear seat space makes car seats and booster seats easy to manuever without you sacrificing anything. I recommend giving both an S8 and A8L 4.0t a test drive. For testing purposes, feel free to try the prefacelifted versions(2013,2014,) even if you don't plan on buying one, they will still show you the difference between the two cars. Both are severely underrated, and make more power than they say.

I think you are both onto something with going the A8L route. I have looked at a couple and agree you can kind of get the best of both worlds with some simple tuning. I just love some of the details on the S and have always had S cars....while understated, the little details that set them just enough apart is something I have appreciate. However, having had an A8 Sport in the family...its hard to argue with your logic...it doesnt get much better.

A8L 4.0T, tune, mix in some E85, rims and you're set.

APR Audi A8/A8L 4.0 TFSI V8 ECU Upgrade

+90hp (545hp)
+129 ft/lbs (629 ft/lbs)
0-60 in 3.5-3.6 secs
$1350

That's on 93 octane pump gas. That, of course, doesn't get you all the other S8 goodies, but you get a significant bump in power for a minimal expense.

Best,
