MMI Software Update to K0942_3
I just updated my MMI software to K0942_3 and it was super easy. Far easier and faster than the D3 update process.

Basically you put a set of files onto a properly formatted SD card, go into the engineering menu, and press update. It's a little more complicated than that but not much.

I haven't played with it much yet but the only difference I can find is that there is now an Audi Connect icon when you press the menu button. Nothing else seems changed. I was hoping for the ability to read text messages but no joy.
FROM THIS POINT FORWARD PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! I started from HN+R_US_AU_P0609. If your software is older than that I have no idea if the files I found will work. If you brick your MMI I have no idea how to help you fix it. As far as that goes I don't know if anyone knows how to fix it. MMI 3G+ is pretty uncharted territory. You will need an SD card formatted to FAT32. If you have RSE you will need 2 SD cards. PM me your email address and I'll send you the link I found.

After using it some more today it seems like the voice commands are a lot faster at understanding what you say. Overall the system just seems faster.
Next I have to figure out maps.

FWIW, with heads up display and Night Vision it also increases the icon sizes some/makes them someowhat more prominent. At least on my 2015. I got dealer to do mine at its annual AudiCare service when I said the magic words for warranty attention about my Nav sometimes freezing or getting lost. They supposedly were able to confirm, so did the update. They previously did our Q5 for same reason.
To do newest maps, you apparently have to be on a very recent MMI rev like this, so you are doing it in the right order.
