New to Audi
Hello,
I am new to Audi (hopefully this will be a better experience than BMW 750Li).
I just purchased a black 2012 A8L with 55k miles. It comes with Executive Seating Package and I feel the car is literally computer on wheels (OMG all the buttons and options!)
Anyway, the car however did not come with Owners manual which I will probably have to get on ebay.
So my first question is how do you import songs into the Audi Jukebox? I put an audio CD in the DVD drive in the front dash (I also tried the DVD changer in the glove compartment), the CD played fine but when I tried to import, all my import sources options were greyed out. Maybe Audi is different because in my previous 2007 Lexus 460LS, you simply insert the audio CD and press the "record" button
Also, any special requirement when the time comes to replace the car battery? I remember from my days of owning a BMW 7 series that one must 'recalibrate' after changing the car battery.
Sorry for the long post, I'll hold up on further questions for now....
Thanks

Welcome.
Go onto Audi USA web site for online manuals. You cannot download, but they do display very nicely on a tablet. The MMI and music functions are in a separate manual. Here: Audi Online Owner's Manual You just need your VIN. Any relevant VIN actually works if you want to read one by grabbing a VIN off an Autotrader or similar ad. While at it, check for any outstanding recalls here: Audi Recall Services by Vehicle Identification Number
Yes, battery needs to be coded to car...in theory. From D3 experience, you can just put in a new battery from any brand that fits and then change prior serial number by one digit if you have VCDS. A fair number of us think if you just drive it for a while, system figures out battery is new/has different electrical charge and capacity characteristics that it is always monitoring.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the new A8! About importing to Jukebox, I too tried in vain to import from a CD. A little research revealed that Audi does not allow that due to "copyright laws". Why Audi worries about it while other manufactures don't is up for debate.
What does work is downloading music to an SD card and importing to Jukebox. Others on here will tell you what formats work, but I always use MP3. I think AAC work with your year also. Hope this helps!

Funny you came from a 750, me too. I had a 2011 F01. But the difference is that I LOVED my BMW. Sure it had some issues, it's a BMW! You will LOVE the Audi though. Great car, less money, less problems (at least for me) and a fantastic interior and MMI system. That having been said, in 2 years or so, I'll be looking at the BMW G11 750 when the current MY drops in price. And then, probably 3 years after that, hopefully I can afford the Audi A8 D5! The redesign of the A8, if the pics I've seen are to be believed, looks gorgeous!

Although this discussion is on the A6 forum, I found all of the information relevant for your car. I used this as the basis for testing different entertainment options my own 2011 A8L and it saved me an enormous amount of time.
