New Key for A8
Would anyone be able to advise me if there are any reputable key suppliers that are able to supply a programmed key and a cut mechanical key that are NOT a dealership and have some decent prices? It is a 2017 A8 L Sport in case that info is needed.
I only received one key when I purchased the A8 and I asked but they stated it was all that came with the car.
So, much to my surprise when I find that a new one will run me a ton of money.
Thank you in advance for your time.

May an "unlocked" key be ordered online and then programmed and cut at a dealership or no?
There are significant money-saving if you do an FCCID match and VIN number input on some of these replacement sites.
Obviously, if it won't work, no amount of money saved is worth it.
Thank you very much for your response!!!

No other viable option, really, if you want it Done Right - it HAS TO be re-programmed at the dealership, via computer connection back to Ingolstadt, Germany.
Not to sound like “that guy”, but it’s a $90,000 vehicle, so $300-ish is not all that bad to have it done correctly

You can only obtain a new key at an Audi dealer. They communicate via the internets with the central computer in Germany to accomplish the task. It has been this way for many years with Audi. If you an get a new one around $350, make that appointment today!

Third party dealers can 'do keys' as long as they have the connection 'back to the mothership'.
If you can find one in Oklahoma, they may be cheaper.

Edit: By the way; the number of keys associated with the car is stored in the MMI. When I bought my A8 the MMI said there were three keys but they only gave me two. I got them to reset the key count and checked my keys worked before I left the dealers ...
