*Before I get a lecture, I already know it's not good for pumps or filters to be run to empty.
I managed 23.5 gallons into the tank today without spilling a drop. Computer says I can go 540 miles. If I remember correctly 501 is the farthest I've ever made it on a tank.
What the most gas you've pumped and farthest traveled?

585 miles is the most I have seen my computer display until empty but I pretty much always fill up by 1/4 tank as fuel lubricates and cools in tank fuel pumps.

How is it possible to put in 23 gallons ? Or gas tank is 21.7 and even if you guys ran it out of gas and then filled up i don't see how 1.3 extra gallons could be put into input hose. And you guys must drive the speed limit only on the highway because i can get about 31mpg on the highway if cruising at 65 but once i go up above that it's dropping to around 27.
But maybe it's the s8 plus that just gets much worse mpgs... not gonna lie the most ive ever gotten was 520 but on average ive been getting around 375

I've seen 559 miles in the S8 on the odometer between a fillup once going to Florida from Ontario. It was a complete highway run. These long road trips really show the differences between various gas stations. Every other tank in that trip was 500ish.

Anyway, one random thought you could try if you want more sound inside that is free: start by taking out the trunk floor and try driving it a bit that way as a test. I found in trying to get rubber trunk floor mat that the facelift S8 has a different floor than most other facelift D4's. It is shared with the Executive Seating version IIRC. What they do is basically put about ½" of some kind of sound board in between the spare tire and the trunk floor. It is what causes S8 trunk floor to be all flat, while most A8's have a large recessed area in center of floor. If you find you like any perceived difference in sound, find a facelift floor from a wreck somewhere without the insulation sandwiched in. I'm not looking for more sound myself, so didn't play with it. I have thought about buying the sport exhaust pieces since they aren't that pricy, but not enough time or drive to play with it more.

Another facelift trunk trivia thing BTW since I remember your post about the headpipes and looking for sound. FWIW, I also found the glass on these makes the car really quiet inside, a lot more than D3 even with acoustic on my prior W12 that seemed quiet at the time. For example, for the longest time I thought my S8 horn was only working part way, but apparently just the insulation. Presto, I finally hear it like normal if I roll down window.
