New plugs and O2 sensor are installed. Plus, I just got the engine oil changed...so lets see what happens over the next few hundred miles. What do you think of the condition of the old spark plugs? They have just under 10k miles.
While I was "in there" I took the liberty to use my new bore scope to take a peek at the number five cylinder. Looks a little crusty to me, lol, so I added some carbon/fuel injector cleaner to the fuel system too.
Thanks for the input. I'm going to sit-tight for the next few days and see what happens. Hopefully, I won't need the HPFP afterall, but time will tell.
I have a 2017 Audi A8L 4.0l and my oil smelled like fuel. I also had a strong fuel smell from the exhaust at idle. I also found out that after driving the car and letting it go through the heat cycle I would leave the car off for 30-50 minutes then try to start it up it would hard crank. I first just had fuel smell in oil then all these popped up. I wanted to change both HPFPs because I got a good deal from the auto zone but found out when pulling out the passenger side HPFP that the passenger was leaking because there was fuel sitting. I still ended up changing both and then changing the oil. I have no problems today
