Remove front grill, and replacing the front view camera...
Last week, I was on my way home on the interstate and some debris fell off a dump truck and smashed into the front of my car. When I got home I discovered that the impact had destroyed my front camera.
Audi wants $485 for it; I had discovered it for as low as $385, until I came across a website called cars-equipment.com. They're in the Chech Republic. They listed the camera for $105 US dollars, plus $23 airmail to anywhere in the world. I ordered it, and received it this past Monday. It is the exact part and is brand new.
I've searched this forum but can't find any instructions for removing the grill on my 2015 A8. Does anyone know how to remove the grill, or if its possible to replace the camera without removing the grill?
There doesn't seem to be a lot of info on the newer Audi's on the internet. Is there any website that offers parts breakdowns and repair instructions possibly as a paid service? I had this when I owned my DBS - Aston charged $200 a year for online access to manuals, parts lists, and most anything related to their cars.
Thanks in advance.

If it's anything like my older A6, you cannot just remove the grill, at least not easily. I had to remove the entire front bumper/grill and then take the grill off from the backside. It's not like the BMW where you can just yank the grills out. I am sure there are some screws holding it in from the top under the hood and then more on the bottom under the car and then more inside the front wheel wells. Again, just going from my recollection from years ago when I did a grill replacement on an 06 A6.
I did remove the rear bumper from my A8 and there are 3 hex screws in each rear wheel well that have to be removed.

I had my grill replaced 2 years ago after a minor fender bender and there were approx 45 screws and various clips for the grill.
Last fall I had a similar experience when a stone kicked up and put a small hole in the clear plastic cover that protects the camera. Still works but the screen view shows a BB sized hole in the image. If they can fix the cover I'll have it done but not paying upwards of $450 plus labor for a new camera.
Good luck

You can also use alldatadiy.com, a web based relatively inexpensive subscription manual resource which I have. There is doesn't matter which OS you use, since web. So far though for at least my 2015, not very complete.

Post #4 is your best answer. When I did mine I just did it without any instructions. It was very straight forward and not very different from removing the bumper on any other VAG car.
