So are we talking differences in the a8l and a8l plus? Or just the regular a8l with 520hp?

?? I had no idea there was such a thing as A8L plus. Nor is there a 'regular A8L' with 520hp.

I thought the title of this thread was self explanatory.

Sorry it's my damn autocorrect....I meant s8 plus.

Wonder if the turbo size differs or does anything differ besides tune on the s8 520hp and the s8 plus 650hp engines

Opinions vary some, but my sense is it is just a chip/tune mod at core.

Keep using the autocorrect...I think you mean 605, not 650. Then realize the straight/pre plus S8 comes in at about 575HP dead stock on dynos pre tunes. Factory likely just sandbagged it and tried to make RS7 at 560 seem like king of heap. APR says S8 577HP stock on 93 octane; can't be sure at 91 octane like here in CA. Then delta to 605 isn't much and can easily just be chip, unless 605 sandbagged too.... APR say theirs is 646HP at 91 octane, stage 1. Another clue it is just in tune is I don't think any of the chip guys have a distinct chip for the Plus (or RS7 Performance) that shows a delta compared to non tweaked factory version--the 520 nominal HP one for S8.

Great, thanks; I'm not going to get any work done for the next hour

so I found an s8 I might be interested in now lol...there is only 1 used 2015 s8 i would want to buy because of the color, however it has 45,000 miles on it...what you guys think? car is 2 years old and with all those miles I would just assume that most of it is highway.

should i buy it if the price is right? i am going to put on probably another 45k miles in 2 years also so wonder how much it will depreciate in 2 years.

"so wonder how much it will depreciate in 2 years"

Heh....A LOT. If you're worried about depreciation, you're really barking up the wrong tree here.

well i think msrp was $130k probably bought it for $120k...i can buy it at $70k...2 years maybe $40k? im ok with those kind of depreciations...I just dont want to be at $20k in 2 years because i now have 100k miles on the car.

Your numbers are pretty far off. If you want to know how much a car is going to be worth later, just add the mileage and time you expect to put in the car, and see what that equates to on cars now. For example, if you want to know how much it will be worth in 2 years with 25k more miles on it, look at how much a 2 year older car with 25k miles more that's roughly equivalent in equipment to the one you are looking at now. In this case, a 2013 S8 with 70k miles seems to be listing for $44-48k, as a fairly rough ballpark.

yeah I could live with those numbers...i just didnt know if i drove it past 100k miles if the value just tanks because of no certified warranty. I plan on driving about 40k miles in the next 2 years and 60k in 3 years...do the extra bits like full leather package, bao sound make a difference in price that much later down the road?
