The inner clip that latches the compartment is broken and it seems it can be replaced, anyone know the part number, I checked OEM catalog and can't seem to find the sunglasses holder or any of its components, seems to be a common problem with many Audi models , if anyone can look it up where I can get one or dealer part number it would be awesome, with the flap open it covers almost half of the rear view mirror and its very annoying. Thanks

double over the duct tape to make a little tab or affix velcro to the tab and the other half of the velcro to the overhead console.

I think this is the part that is responsible for holding the sunglasses holder closed. Should do what you need. Follow the link for the OEM replacement. It's quite cheap.
