I will strongly suggest to don't put any other engine oil than manufacturer required, which is 5w30 Long Life VW 504 /507 and low ash, to don't clogged your DPF.
I have an A8 4.2 tdi v8 2010, and I've done 33.000 miles in 2y. I've used just MANNOL Energy Long life 5w30 (VW 504/507 low ash) and changed the oil every 9.000 miles. Absolutely no problem with the engine or DPF or anything else. The level of the engine oil stays at same level from service to service. Very happy with it. If the oil that you want to use does not contain 5W-30, VW 504 /507 specs, than don't use it. Or you will destroy the engine in time. Good luck!
