VCDS VIM programming help

I have the Ross tech VCDS and I’m trying to program ViM on mmi and I can’t get past the security code. One write up said note the serial number first and then enter certain digits of that serial to gain access, but one digit referenced is a letter, and there’s is no 14th digit... so I’m confused and must be doing something wrong. Below is a picture of the serial number given. 2012 A8L

Enable VIM on MMI
[5F - Information Electr.] [Advanced ID - 1A] Note 1st Serial number
[Security Access] Enter Digits 6, 13, 10, 14, 11 of the 1st Serial number
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 48
Set to 255
Reset MMI
