Default Audi A8 D5 virtual cockpit upgrade.

Hello,

I own a 2020 A8L with a lot of goodies on it, but I always dreaded the lack of customisation of the Virtual Cockpit. I used to own a 7 series before and I loved the fact that you could switch between different, sportier screens and give it a fresher look.

However, I came across a video of a Facelifted D5 and it looks like they introduced Sport Graphics on its Virtual Cockpit. The screens themselves look the same as the ones I have on my 2020, I don’t think they’ve changed the hardware n’or I can find any genuine information. Would it be possible to update my screens to get the same software version and the facelifted graphics? Know of anyone who has done this?

Thanks.

I think only the S8 has that shape tachometer. S8 owners might chime in. I actually much prefer the D5 tach which is clockwise vs the counterclockwise 7 series tach.

On the facelift you can switch back and forth between 3 different screens, even on the regular A8.

Correct. As far as I can tell the hardware is virtually the same and it would only be a software update to have them. Hopefully anyone can shed some light.

It's MIB3 on 2020+, no?

I think it's an upgrade...maybe not just software?

I don't think it's possible without diving into the eng screens. AFAIR, wireless android Auto is also on MIB3, but not available on MIB2.

Seems MIB3 is from 2021 onwards, just went down this rabbit hole. Way too much information for me to digest.
