Fault code P261 - ECM Timer Off ???

Fault code P261 - ECM Timer Off ???
So a week ago Friday the check engine light goes on after cold starting my A8 in the AM. It stays on for a couple of hours while I’m out shopping (still on with a couple of engine start cycles). After shopping, I drove to dealer, MIL not flashing and car is running smooth so made a service appointment for the following week to check it out. Re-started the car at dealer to go home and, you guessed it, the light goes off…All is normal and OK. Still brought it in today for the appointment, and the report is the ECM threw a P261 fault code (ECM Timer Off). Service folks couldn’t explain it, but they performed an ECM “test plan.” It came back with ECM is OK, so no repairs needed. The car is, and has been, running fine. Weird. Anyone ever experience this issue?
