More Cooling system issues 60 TFSi
I thought I'd post this separately since I didn't want to complicate the other cooling issue thread. Got car back with new ECM, coolant tank and harness, as stated earlier. And I purposely drove it pretty hard last week to make sure they didn't miss anything, but lo and behold on Monday the coolant reading went into the red "H" turn off engine check coolant message. I was literally 30 seconds from dealer so I took it right in. Wen it went in last week, nothing had overheated. Neither the coolant, nor the Engine oil.
Miraculously, they found me a loaner on the 3rd of July afternoon a Q7, since I had a road trip planned for the 4th. They found a seized water pump, maybe intermittent issues from that was causing the errors from before? who knows. They had the pump in stock, but it leaked onto a solenoid under it, which needs replacement and is in transit to dealer. ETA on repair is Tuesday. Hopefully, thats that. At least I had a fun filled week with the car the week prior. More to come.

Good luck with having this issue fixed. How many miles on your A8L?

That is very low miles for it to develop such a problem. I have 25k miles on my 2022 A8 and I am keeping my fingers crossed...

Update
Coolant pump changed, solenoid changed, but they cracked a line during the ‘surgery’ Stock is 2-3 days out. oof! So I wait.
@pcc125 I wouldn’t worry too much. Really haven’t heard/read much about this problem. They’ve probably missed something when it was in for a small leak some time ago on the repair. Mine is CPO with a few years of warranty still left, only way to buy such a complicated car IMO.
Here’s an interesting observation about my loaner ‘23 Q7. The shortcuts on the main MMI screen stay planted. Has this changed for everyone? I’ll inquire if a software update can get my A8 to do the same. Is everyone’s car seeing this now?

Saga continues
Coolant line changed. They also actually acknowledged a new MMI software that will make the top shortcuts stick and are installing it. However,
”Tech noticed unusual wear on intake turbo valves” which will be replaced under warranty. ETA on parts wed-Thursday. Half day job. W. T. F. It was running just fine under hard load. If it is a genuine problem I’m glad they’re replacing it while still under warranty. BUT, come on . Either they really like me and are slowly building me a new engine, or they’re trying to sell me on the Q7 for the wife. </rant>
sometimes I feel the dealership milks the car under warranty to bill back to Audi as long as they see fit.

Got the car back
On the way out they also changed the thermostat just so it works better with what essentially is a new cooling system. I was immediately reminded how many light years the A8 is ahead for its ride/handling balance on Chicago city roads than any other thing I've driven on four wheels. Still absolutely love the car!
