SQ8...where I suspect a lot of the D5 target market will be looking
...like so much else of the slowly declining sedan market.
Regardless, notice the drivetrain, for both Hybrid and the V6 only theme. I think they probably have the gas motor HP wrong given the small delta to total HP w/ hybrid assist. But total is probably correct since that is essentially the Panamera V6 Hybrid spec. I suspect we could see something similar on D5 in due course.

Lots of unnecessary vehicles coming from Audi, and LOTS of of unnecessary cars receiving an RS badge, but what can they do? It's business, and if they don't join the stupid game BMW and Mercedes is playing with all their useless diluted vehicles, well in the end they will lose, and lose BIG.
Personally, not a fan. Even if the RSQ8 that we will get in the states with have 600+hp, it just doesn't make sense. I think Audi Sport acting on giving the world more cars is a GREAT thing, but where they are deciding to use that idea is a letdown. If I were the head of Audi RS, I'd make damn sure to give the world a PROPER RS4/RS6 Sedans. If Americans HATE Avants that much.... well at least give me the cars you gave me in 2003 and 2007. But instead we are going to get a 5000+lb pig-of-an-SUV with the coveted badge, that will more than likely be driven by soccer moms to the mall and back home.
That's my take on that. It was only a matter of time until Audi diluted their performance arm, BMW and Mercedes simply sold out much sooner than they did.
As for the D5, I highly doubt we'll get any TDI/Hybrid version of the A8 in the states, and it we do, they'll probably be very low volume just like the diesel engines in the D4 were. People that buy these cars just don't give a f*** about MPG/going green, I never care for those models either way, doesn't affect me.
If it's an A8 give me AT LEAST a V8, or a twin turbo W12 ;D
