Does anyone use their mobile phone as a key? On the app it says that my phone S8 is compatible with convinience key fuction but does not show anything else. Please help me with the process if anyone has configured their phone to work as a key.

The car is a 2020 A8 UK spec, phone is Samsung S8.

USA here with a 2020 and our app only locks and unlocks and tells info on the car, not really functional to use as key. I use sometimes to lock if I’m in the house. Maybe UK app allows more...

This was a feature that was touted at the D5 GA announcement but never made it into series production.

I literally see this as an option to be played with in OBD11, but the NFC sensor isn't in our door handles so no, this isn't possible. The idea was to use your phone as a key...(NFC), but no, this is not actually a thing on our cars as Audi bailed on it last minute.

The option is offered in Germany. It's called "Audi connect key" and costs about 200 Euro. I don't see it being offered in the UK and I know for sure it's not offered in the USA. Not sure why Audi hasn't introduced it yet in other markets. Only works with Android for now until they add Apple CarKey support, but as correctly stated above it requires the NFC reader in the door handles, which you get if you add the Audi connect key option to your build where offered.
