March, 1986, with Bobby Unser at the wheel, this modified 5000CSTQ set the one-lap closed course speed record for 4-wheel drive vehicles at Talladega Speedway. Average speed of 206.825mph over the 2.66 mile high-banked track.

Engine powering the car was a 650hp version of the I5 turbo:

Did you know that if that Audi had entered the Nascar Talledega race it would have been in the pole position?

I wish Audi would have entered Nascar just to see the looks on all of the hick's faces as the Germans destroyed all thier hero's...

Oh well, I guess Audi kinda did that at TransAm series races in 88...
