95 A6 Quattro Auto Crank Sensor? No Start!
<center><img src="http://img.autopartsauthority.com/live/thumb/F601056931OES.JPG"></center><p>Does this car have a crank sensor? That is what seems to come up when reading the codes. I cannot seem to locate the part. I have located what most parts places call a "Black Ignition Timing Sensor" (Pictured), it looks to be similar. I have already changed the Ignition modules. Thanks!!

Yes, its called the crankshaft position sensor (CKP) -G4-, located on the left side of the block....
There is also a engine speed sensor (RPM) -G28-, which is located on the flywheel.

Thanks, would you happen to know the Part Number for it? I have called several dealers and have been unable to locate it. Thanks

That's probably not your problem.
That code will come up any time codes are pulled without the engine running. Also, that part is very reliable. I'm not saying that it isn't bad, but you really need to do your homework before you replace it. Got spark? Fuel pump running with engine cranking? Got fuel at the rail? A dead fuel pump will not throw a code.
