Default 97A6Q - CD00 ERR

Hi,
My CD Changer in the back is giving me this message whenever I try to play anything off of there. I can get my CD Cartridge to come out and go in without any issues. Looked at my connector and it seems ok.. When I peek into the player, it seems like the CD is not coming out of the cartridge when it is attempting to play..

How can I verify if it is a cartridge problem or if it is a unit issue? and if it is the unit, how can I get a replacement for it? I have been searching on the net, but am not able to find it..

Can someone please help..

Thanks,
somu.

Default I had the same ERR, but it was because a CD was stuck ajar in the player

preventing an eject or play. Putting the CD back on the spindle made it work again. You can try opening it up and trying to manually slide a CD onto the spindle. Is there any motor noise?

You'll have to go to eBay/classifieds for a new one, and they cost a pretty penny more than you'd expect. Good luck, and post your results!

Default Check if there is a CD stuck in the CD Changer

If yes, then slide the CD out (need to use some force).

Default Try this before you go out and buy a new CD changer

Mine has been working ever since for a year now.

Good luck,<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/71312.phtml">cd changer error fix</a></li></ul>

Default Re: 97A6Q - CD00 ERR

Inside there is a platform that moves up and down to each CD to get it out of the cartridge and move it down to where the player is. It is possible that something is jammed in there. It is not difficult to open the changer and watch what is happening. Just unscrew the small black screws that hold the case on. Also check the cartridge to make sure the white levers for each section are working smoothly. You should be able to push them manually and make the CDs pop out. If you decide that it is not fixable let me know. My changer has a gear that is broken and I would be willing to buy it for the parts. If you need a replacement, they are not cheap $200 - $300 used on ebay.
