Accelerator problems on Audi 100

Accelerator problems on Audi 100
Was wondering if anyone could help me out I have an Audi 100 cs and I dont seem to be getting the power I want when I accelerate. IT seems when I push on the pedel I dont get a very good response I have to press it really far. I shouldnt have to push so hard to reach the speed I want. Hope you can make sense of all this but if you can I really appreciate it. Thank you.
