Default adjusting the windshield washers

One of my windshield washers sends fluid right in the middle of the moon roof. I thought, that Audi did it on purpose in order to wash the glass surface of the roof, but then I changed my mind.
So adjusting the windshield washers seemed like an easy job. But Bently manual said to do not use pin and how to disassemble and reassemble the jet assembly. I had disconnected it and did not find any way to adjust it. I am missing something. Would somebody be so kind and explain to me how to adjust washer jets without special tools.

Thanks
PS I have 96 A6

Plain old shirt pin for me. Used the jets to see how I was doing.
