Audi 100 2.5 TDI fuel injection pump belt
I've just had my 2nd fuel pump drive belt break. Easy to fix but a bit of care required to time.
Question is why the break, has anybody else had the same experience and can help with a few clues to any faults to look out for? I am not sure that the tensioning method (Haynes manual)is correct so a few suggestions would also be welcome.

Disagree. The 2.5 TDi was a C4 body car. World record holder. Not that it matters, we never got
any 2.5 TDi's in NAmerica (if you discount the 2.5 Tdi EuroVan transporter).
But a 2.5 TDi C4 Avant would be oh so sweet.

Eurpean Car. Feb 94 article: Audi 100 TDi sets record: 2800.4 km(1750.25 mi) on one tank of fuel
Naturally, a few tricks were involved and it was done on a test track, not stop and go real world traffic.
