block heater / water circulator anyone ever install?
Has anyone ever installed one on a 2.8? I picked up block heater for the coolant. it is supposed to tee into a heater line and then into a fitting, which is supposed to screw into the block. the fitting lookes like 3/8 npt threads (pipe threads). I am not sure if there is a female npt receptacle on the block.
why do i want to do this? the obvious answer is to want heat quicker in the car, but that is really not my reason. my drive to work is relatively short (15 minutes) and i want the engine to warm up faster. yes, the heater will blow warm sooner, but it will also send a signal to the fuel injection that the engine is not cold, thereby giving better gas mileage, better for the engine, less gas washing down cylinder walls, etc, etc, etc.
so, if anyone has every done this, please sound off and let me know how/where you connected it.
