Check out the cool Audi gizmo a friend from Germany sent me...
I got this in the mail the other day. Took me a little time pondering to figure it all out...or at least to hypothecate what all the features are for.

Oh yeah, it says A4...but the A4 B5 forum doesn't deserve these fun little things. Talk about a hard group to break into...I feel like I just moved from BFE, Nebraska to NYC in the middle of my senior year in high school over there.

You use that to set the time you parked, in say, a 2 hr zone.(The honor system). Used one in ...
Italy last year (it was fixed to the inside of the rental (Fiat turbo diesel) windshield.
I think the penalties for abuse (cheating) must be nasty.

So you have nothing like that in the US?
It is the rule here actually.
We have "blu zones" in Switzerland, where you have to display the time you parked (Ankunftszeit = time of arrival) and you can stay one hour, or until 1430 if you parked after 1130, or until 0930 if you parked after 1830.
A policeman makes rounds and notes what car has what time.
If you don't display the disc, it's 40CHF.
If you stay more than one hour, it's at least 40CHF depending on a couple of factors.
The "one hour" rule is kind of flexible and depends on how merciful is the policeman on duty at that moment.

In the US, at least in Minnesota, the police mark your tire with chalk and come back 2 hours later
If you're still parked there you get a ticket. In the college days we would just go out and back the car up a little bit or rub the chalk off to avoid the ticket.
