Default Help Please

Hello all,

My car has a problem that I have tried to fix for months. My condensator drain is clogged. I know that most of you might be thinking that I am one of those who did not clean the plenum drain. This is wrong, my plenum drain is free but the condensator drain does not let the water out of the condensation box which results in flooding the carpet and water running into the A/C blower fan.

I please ask you to help me locate the condensator drain. I already took the glove box out and pulled the carpet but I could not locate the drain.
I put my fingers in the condensator box (through the recirculation flap)and could feel some leaves and wet mud as well as water.

Thank you all,

Sebastien

Thanks Dave, I will try and let you know.

I already filtered the whole Audiworld forum and read every single post on that subject.

I remember that one but I guess, I forgot to read this little followup post.

Sometimes, you need a new set of eyes.

Thanks again
Sebastien

Default I believe it drains into the fresh air well and then that drains out the fenders

Take off the plastic planels in front of the windshield, and expose the entire evaporator housing (your condensor is out in front of the radiator). With the housing exposed, you can vacuum out all the leaves, and you can probably feel and/or see the evaporator drain.

If you tape a rubber hose to the end of your shop vac hose, you can snake it past the recirculation flap and get that water and the leaves out of the box.

Good luck!

Finally,

I found it. There are 2 rubber hoses coming from the passenger side airbox. They join to a T and drain under the car.

It was easy to clean, just by squeezing the rubber hoses and all the water escaped under the car.

I believe that my A/C will work much better now and this fountain noise in the blower will disappear.

Thanks a lot to all of you.

1) You take out the black cover between your engine and the windshield.
2) You look on the passenger side, there is a big black box with pipes coming in and out
3) You look in front of this box and you will see two rubber hoses (1/2 in diameter) coming out of under the box. The two hoses will join to a T shaped white connection.
4) Grab the connection and pull it out. That is your drain. What I did was to puch the rubber hoses at different locations to unclog it. It worked and a lot of water ran out.
5) Since I knew my condensator box was dirty with mud and leaves, I then took a bottle with a pipe and let a lot of hot water flow in the box from the recirculation flap (from inside the car, behind the glove box) to clean everything.
6) Finally, I applied some BG Frigi Fresh (A/C desinfectant). Now everything is clean and smells so good.

Hope this helped
