How many K's can a Audi last before major problems or any problems start to happen?

How many K's can a Audi last before major problems or any problems start to happen?
hi there audi peoples!!
i have just recently bought a A6 1995 and it has 176,000 on the clock and was wondering on how long do these motors or gearboxes last before that start to pack in? any one got any rough ideas or what problems they have had with there motor wise which is related to the usage of the car? though it might be intersting to find out and plus i wouldnt mine knowing how long mines got to go before i sell on and buy another. as mine is staring to blow bluesmoke but not much.. any ideas on how to fix?

Welcome. Search the archives for "mileage" and you should find several threads.
Common question and you'll find plenty.
Read the buyer's guide in the FAQ's and that's what you can expect to have fail at 175k. More or less, depending on previous owner care and driving habbits/conditions.
These all burn oil by design, so check it, change it and the filter, keep it at the proper level, and check it often....

that's a fact! I'd suggest..

I blew out the serpentine belt around 140,000 and it caused a chain reaction which blew the timing belt and the top half of my engine! That was a major repair!
As for a high mileage Audi...I think you'll find that it always needs something..and that some things can wait! It's a high maintenance vehicle but that's the price you pay for luxury and beauty.
I think the paint/body will last 800,000k! They should paint every car the way this car is painted!!!

My car has 350000km's on the clock
Just did a top gasket replacement with the help of all the friends on Audi world, also did the valve stem seals and lapped the valves etc etc. Now for the first time believe it or not, my car hasn't used a drop of oil in over 1500 miles!! Maby it will start to use a little now that she is run in with the new top gasket, mileage improved alot aswell as power.
So from my point of view, if you look after your car, she will look after you!!
