dealership stupid?
I bought a new fuel pump to put in the A6 since the mileage on the pump is unknown (117K, probably original. Per ETKA and other sources 8A0 906 091G is what I bought.
The dealership told me its the wrong one so they can't put it in.
Its OEM VDO....I don't see what the problem is.

Its the same PN for our 90's and they replaced mine without issue.
I am not sure what the holdup is until I can double check the number on the box. Its possible they shipped the wrong one even though the bill clearly states the correct #.

Could be they don't want to install it since you're bringing them parts...
...they are a dealership out to make money - parts being a big part of the service equasion.

I really hate working on anything gas related as a whole.
As for the dealership, I have brought them many items in which they installed them without any issue. As long as its not used and its OEM they will do it.
I'll know more tues when I can get the # off the box which is in the car still at the dealership to see if its correct.

Tools? The fuel pump can be changed without either of the dealer tools, there's a good...

Either way I don't think I'd ever bring a dealer parts and say "here fix this"...maybe an indy shop...
Maybe it's not worth their time either...dealers typically have bigger fish to fry than an hour or so of labor replacing a fuel pump in a car well over 10 years old.

if your willing to pay they should be willing to do it.
I brought them a starter and fuel pump which they gladly put in for me.
It is possible it really is the wrong pump but I am 99% sure its correct even though they are saying its not the correct one.
