Default I replaced the front struts in a 95 A6q but now the struts twist a little in the top mount and

it makes a lot of noise during turning and some during normal driving. I tried to tighten the top nut but it was already tight. Has this been a problem for anyone else and do you know how to fix it? The struts are the cheap Gabriels so is it the struts that are designed incorrectly and need a spacer/washer added to give the nut more compression?

Yes, we did not replace the mounts, but they did not make this noise before.

I guess so. How would that affect the twisting of the top plate?

The rubber within the mount is twisting when you turn?

Default The strut twists in the rubber just a little and then pops back making a creaky noise.

The mounts look fine though. It seems like there should be more stress on the strut so it won't twist at the top.

You need new strut bearings you should torque down the the struts to the appropriate measurement.

Can you explain what you did more clearly, please. Bottle? Under the strut?
