judder/misfire emissions issue
I’m not sure if you would be able to help me at all.
I’m currently having issues with my Audi and it’s starting to cost me a bit. I’ve currently got two related issues, one is that the car has a non-consistent misfire/judder on idle and when driving it lacks power when accelerating and the other is I’m struggling to get the Co levels at idle emissions down for the Mot of which its failed twice (reading 3.62).
The car is a Audi a3 hatchback 1.8l – non turbo. year 2000
So far I have done:
Full service apart from new belt
Replaced exhaust system
New Lambda sensor
New Maf sensor
New oil breather pipe
I’ve sprayed throttle cleaner in the throttle and around the air intake pipes and manifold on the engine but no noticeable leaks, I’ve also put some fuel additives in the tank to try clear any crud in the system. The diagnostics shown no faults other than the electronical parts I had replaced.
The juddering initially only started when the car had warmed up causing me to almost kangaroo down the road and now it is skipping at idle. When at idle you can hear a faint pop and the engine bounce. I’m a bit stuck on what to check next. The diagnostics had shown injectors running in sequence and all other areas running correctly but wouldn’t show what is causing the misfire and lean/rich mixture.
Any help I would gladly appreciate
