Need Help .. Car Shuts down in hot weather
So when I am driving long distances in hot weather my 94 100cs will just shut down for a few minutes then will start back up drive fine for awhile then shut down again. It appears to be a overheating issue? I live at 10,000 feet in Colorado where it is super cold so this issue only bothers me if a drive to hot weather ( 75 degrees Plus).
Normal to cold temperatures no problem. But the car always has, smoke coming from the wheel well. Oil?
My temp gauge isn't working right, at idle the needle rises fine, but while driving it never passes the quarter mark even before it shuts down.
My fans aren't turning on either, I had the fan switch replaced but the problem still exists.
When the car shuts down the engine seems to be really hot. If I take the oil cap off a very small amount of smoke comes from the engine and there is a strong burning oil smell.
I'm thinking thermostat but are there any other issues?
Where should I start fixing this?
Sorry for the multiple issues but it is what it is... Thanks for any help
