Default Newbie with a 1992 100cs and some easy questions

Hi,
I just bought a 1992 100 cs and only 70k on the clock

Mostly what I need is a connection at a Audi used parts dealer, what I need is the fan display for my automatic climate control (looks like the screen took a hit to it once). The swtich for the dirverside reading light (light is there, just the switch is missing), and the plastic cover that hold the controls for the sunroof, the microphone, and that 'dome' light (which I think is also broken, bulb is Ok but unit does not work)

the other things I am curious about is getting my motorola phone to work with the prewired microphone and speaker (possibly the mute too?. I am kinda handy with eletronics so if there is a 'self wired' approach, I can probably do it

The last observation is that my on dash display of the radio station 'freaks out' once in a while, does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks in advance to all
e

Default You can use only Audi's analog Motorola with the prewired harness.

I can find you a pin-out for the 25pin connector in the trunk, if you want to custom wire you phone to the Audi speaker/mic and use Audi audio system mute function.

Hi beep-beep,
That would be great, any info is very helpful!

Its too bad that only an analog is available for plug and play

when you say the fan display "took a hit" do you mean that the display is unreadable due to a blob of orange in the plasma display?

if that is the case, you are in for a very expensive repair. from what I can tell, you can't buy just the single side of the display and must fork out about $400+ for a new climate control head. on my 92 100cs, the temp side has the "blob". it makes reading the temp very difficult but the heater/ac works. i can increase/decrease the temp with the up and down button. so i may not know the exact temp setting, but if it is too hot, i click it down a couple notches and up if it's too cold.

you could do the same for the blower speed.

Hi Audijim, yup I got the Blob! I can read most of what I need so I may just live with it. I did find two recyclers www.force5auto.com, in NH.. Chris was totally cool to talk with and very responsive! He said that he could try to find me that desiplay but it would be like $150,

Then www.pap-parts.com also forked up a price, based on a $600 new cost, they quoted me $250 for a used one (GULP)
I decided I could live with not seeing the right half of my fan display

Beep-beep, I wired in my hands free kit with after market microphone and speaker. The kit I installed has wires out for a mute function. I read some procedure under tech about wiring up the cell phone plug, that includes the pin out for the Mute function.. Do you know what signal Audi needs to that pin to get the mute to finction?
Regards and thanks
