I have a 92 100 s with a 5 speed trans sitting still the car runs fine and there are no noises from the trans or engine. but when I put the car in first gear and start to move there is a banging noise coming from the front drivers side I jacked the car up the axles seem to be pretty tight not really sure if the noise is coming from the axle or the trans the car drives fine other than the noise. has anyone had this problem in the past

What type of noise? About six month ago, my driver side front drive shaft went bad. It was fine when the vehicle sit still, but once it start moving, it was making a tapping noise. The original drive shaft looks fine, there was no tear or any sign it was broken.

Outer CV joint knackered?

Same here ,drive shaft was bad but had it replaced.My noise is still there which could also be a bad engine mount.
