Normal oil pressure?
What do you guys see as normal oil pressure on the guage? At 3000 RPM mine runs 5 bar + often pegging out the guage. On a long drive on a hot day it will drop to about 4 bar at 3000RPM. Normaly at idle after it warms up it will drop to 3-4 bar. This seems high to me. I have 20-50 oil in it for the summer (what the manual calls for)
Is there a oil pressure relief in the pump that could be stuck?

Re: Normal oil pressure?
You would have to check with a reliable and accurate gauge. The gauge in the cluster is nice to have but not very reliable.
My own one shows 1.8bar at idle with the oil at more than 100 degrees centigrade. (20w50 grade oil)
This would normally be under allowable pressure at idle. It had me worried until I had it tested and found it was running at 2.3 bar on a professional gauge. So mine is reading .5 of a bar under.
We never tested when cold so I have no idea what the real cold pressure is for my car. It shows almost 5 on the cluster gauge.
